NEW!!! Efficient Address Book 3 Review->

Efficient Address Book Version 3 is one of the best contact managers I have ever used on a computer. It is certainly the most full featured, beating out Microsoft’s Outlook by a mile. The unique ability for the program to add your own customized fields is unmatched. This is a fantastic feature that I have been looking for in the past, and have not found. While other services like yahoo address book keep your information in the cloud, the information may be accessible to others. Efficient Address Book 3 allows you to keep a backup file of your data, which can be copied to a USB memory stick, or burned to a CD. I like to keep a backup copy of both on hand. With the peak of solar cycle 12 on its way, there is an increased chance of data loss on both rotating and solid state media due to solar flares. One of the best features available in the application is the ability to store pictures directly into the database file. For every contact, you can have multiple pictures directly inserted into the database file. This makes for quick and easy backup to different types of media. The application is also very fast. There is no lag, as there is with Microsoft Outlook 2000. Also, the application allows you to set a password to access your contacts to prevent unauthorized use. Although I am using this program on Windows XP Pro, the software states that it will run on anything from Windows NT 4.0 and up. You could take an old 486 box, throw NT on it, and use it as a secure, offline address book computer. Sorry, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 users, the software does not appear to be supported. The program is very easy to use as well. It gives a simple way to input data. Also, if you want to email someone, you can do so by clicking on their email address. It will automatically open your default Windows mail program. One of the most powerful features of the program is the ability to make your own custom fields. Say for instance you wanted to create a custom field called “Facebook URL” You could do so by going into the options, and creating this custom field. Then you could put all of your friends Facebook URL’s in- www.facebook.com/somebody. This is a great way to keep contact information from all over the web in one single place. Once all of the info is entered, you can search for it easily. The only thing I do not like about the program is the limited number of additional custom fields you can have. This version only supports eight custom fields. This may pose a problem for people who want to be able to search large amounts of data. I’m sure it would not be hard for the developers to turn this limit of eight into unlimited fields. Besides this, Efficient Address Book version 3 is a fantastic product. I would recommend it to anybody looking for an all in one contact management solution.
